Why should you hire an apprentice

So why should you hire an accounting apprentice?

For the uninitiated, taking on an apprentice can seem a daunting process. However, it can be a hugely rewarding and satisfying experience for employer and apprentice alike. To help explain the process we have put together the following FAQs. If having read them you still have unanswered questions, do get in touch. We have over 20 years’ experience of training accounting apprentices and during that time we have seen most things when it comes to recruiting and training apprentices! You can contact us here.

There are lots of reasons why employers decide to take on an accounting apprentice. From our experience an accounting apprentice will:

  • Free up your time, so you can dedicate more hours to working ‘on’ the business and less ‘in’ it.

  • Provide an extra pair of hands to carry out various accounting processes and in some cases business admin process, so you can keep your internal managers or clients happy.

  • Enable your managers to take on more detailed tasks or client work, so they can further develop their own specialisms and, if in an accountancy practice, increase their chargeable hours and charge out rates.

  • Help you to ‘grow your own team’, because there is a shortage of qualified and experienced accountants in the marketplace.

  • Be a great asset to your business.
