Star Student October 2022: Rachel Westcott

Personal Tutor: Clare

I have loved doing my AAT Level 2 with Accountancy Learning. Everyone has been really supportive and helpful every step of the way, and the experience has really helped my confidence. Deciding to retrain in my forties was a slightly scary prospect, but I had to retrain after my business altered after covid leaving me with very little income. I decided that life is what you make it and have thrown myself into the experience with gusto.

I achieved 93%, 94% and 93% on my first three exams, and I am awaiting the results for the Synoptic and UCAS at the moment. I also won a bursary from the AAT to do my AAT3 with Accountancy Learning, and am looking forward to starting this soon. The next step is to find a part-time job I can fit around my family to put my new skills into use with, and I know the right job will appear soon. I am excited for my future career, and really love doing Accounting so I know it will be a great one. Thank you for all your help.

Personal Tutor comments:

Rachel is a hard-working and committed student whose work is always well presented and of an exceptional standard. She takes on each new challenge with enthusiasm and a genuine interest in what she is learning. But what makes Rachel stand out is her determination to succeed, with no prior financial knowledge or work experience and juggling family commitments, she has completed her exams ahead of schedule and with outstanding results. In addition she has been awarded a bursary from the AAT for her Level 3 studies which she fully deserves, and I look forward to supporting her with these.
